Kath Fielden has chosen to specialise in family law and civil litigation and has worked for Legal Aid and in private practice. She advises and represents clients in children’s matters, child support, family law and de facto property matters. . As a member of the Legal Aid General Family Law Panel, she accepts referrals of legally aided clients. Kath can also assist with wills and estates, employment litigation including unfair dismissal and discrimination matters and also general accident compensation matters.
Kath has over ten years public sector experience working in significant roles at the Newcastle City Council and DOCs. She has an extensive professional network of community and business contacts. She also has a long history of community involvement and a particular interest in the revitalisation of Newcastle. She is a member of the NSW Fair Trading Advisory Council, which advises the NSW Minister for Fair Trading on a range of consumer and trading issues. Kath is an Alumni of the Commonwealth Emerging Pacific Leaders Conference 2006 and was a youth delegate to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit.
Kath has a step-son, two daughters, a black cat and a varying number of suicidal goldfish. In her spare time Kath is learning how to surf, finishing her MBA and writing “The Wicked Step-monsters Guide to happily ever after” due to be published in 2009.
