The NSW Law Society offers specialist
accreditation in a number of practice areas including in personal
injury law. It allows a
practitioner to be recognized as
a specialist in their chosen area of expertise.
To become an accredited specialist a solicitor must have been in
full time practice for at least five years, three of which must have
been in the specialty they wish to become accredited in, and pass a
rigorous examination process.
In the specialty of personal injury this involves preparing a
mock file, passing a rigorous examination covering all types of
personal injury law and participating in a peer interview.
